This 8-day Kenya safari is a thrilling adventure through Kenya’s most famous national parks, offering diverse landscapes, rich wildlife, and immersive cultural experiences.

Start your journey in Amboseli National Park, where you’ll see huge elephant herds with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. Then, head to Samburu National Reserve, home to the Special Five (Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk). Visit Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for flamingos and rhinos, before ending your adventure in Masai Mara, the most famous safari destination in Africa, where you may witness the Great Migration (seasonal).

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN NAIROBI – TRANSFER TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your guide will transfer you to Amboseli National Park, a 4-hour scenic drive south of Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive, where you’ll see elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

DAY 2: FULL-DAY SAFARI IN AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Spend the entire day exploring Amboseli National Park. Enjoy an early morning game drive, the best time to see predators hunting. Visit Observation Hill, where you’ll get a panoramic view of Amboseli’s swamps, plains, and Kilimanjaro. In the afternoon, you can go on another game drive or take part in an optional Maasai village tour, where you’ll learn about their traditional way of life, dances, and warrior customs.

DAY 3: TRANSFER TO SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

After breakfast, embark on a 6-hour scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve, located in Northern Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive. Samburu is home to unique wildlife, including the Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk.

DAY 4: FULL-DAY SAFARI IN SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Spend the entire day on morning and afternoon game drives, exploring Samburu’s rugged landscapes and spotting elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and crocodiles along the Ewaso Nyiro River. In the afternoon, visit a Samburu village, where you’ll experience authentic tribal culture, music, and traditional beadwork.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK – AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a 5-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its thousands of flamingos, endangered rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and tree-climbing lions.

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru before heading to Masai Mara National Reserve, a 5-hour scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check into your budget tented camp before heading out for an afternoon game drive, where you’ll spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and cheetahs.

DAY 7: FULL-DAY SAFARI IN MASAI MARA

Spend the entire day exploring Masai Mara, tracking wildlife across its vast savannahs. If visiting between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration, where over two million wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River while evading crocodiles and predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the Mara, maximizing your game-viewing experience. Optional activities include: Hot air balloon safari at sunrise (additional cost) Visit to a Maasai village to experience their traditional way of life (additional cost)
