This 10-day Uganda safari takes you on a thrilling adventure through Uganda’s best national parks. From chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest and gorilla trekking in Bwindi to Big Five game drives in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, this itinerary is designed for wildlife lovers and adventure seekers.

Your journey begins in Murchison Falls National Park, home to the world's most powerful waterfall and an abundance of elephants, lions, and giraffes. Next, visit Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking, then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for boat safaris, game drives, and tree-climbing lions. The highlight of the trip is mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, followed by a scenic retreat at Lake Bunyonyi before ending with a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE – TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park, a 5–6 hour scenic drive with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. Continue to Murchison Falls, check into your budget lodge or tented camp, and relax before dinner.

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE & NILE RIVER BOAT SAFARI

Start the day with an early morning game drive, where you’ll have a chance to see elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and warthogs. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Nile River, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. The boat ride ends near the bottom of Murchison Falls, providing stunning views. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 3: HIKE TO THE TOP OF MURCHISON FALLS – TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a 7-meter-wide gorge, creating the world’s most powerful waterfall. Then, embark on a 6-hour drive to Kibale National Park, passing through Uganda’s lush countryside and tea plantations. Arrive in the afternoon, check into your budget lodge, and relax.

DAY 4: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN KIBALE – BIGODI WETLAND WALK

Wake up early for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. The trek lasts 1–4 hours, and once you find them, you’ll have one hour to observe their behavior up close. After lunch, take a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you’ll see rare birds, monkeys, and other primates.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BOAT SAFARI

After breakfast, take a 3-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest wildlife reserve. Check into your budget lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species.

DAY 6: GAME DRIVE & ISHASHA TREE-CLIMBING LIONS – TRANSFER TO BWINDI

Start the day with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs. In the afternoon, drive to the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, and enjoy another game drive before heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening, check into your budget lodge, and relax before your gorilla trekking adventure.

DAY 7: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Today is the highlight of your trip—gorilla trekking in Bwindi! After a briefing from park rangers, enter the dense rainforest, following trails to find one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can take 2–6 hours, depending on their movement. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these majestic primates. After trekking, return to the lodge for relaxation or an optional Batwa pygmy cultural experience.

DAY 8: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI – CANOEING & RELAXATION

After breakfast, take a 2-hour drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s most scenic lake. Check into your budget lodge and spend the day canoeing, swimming, hiking, or simply relaxing by the lakeside.

DAY 9: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – WALKING SAFARI

After breakfast, drive 4 hours to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park but rich in wildlife. Upon arrival, check into your budget lodge before embarking on an afternoon walking safari, where you’ll see zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and warthogs on foot. Later, enjoy an evening game drive, a great time to see leopards and nocturnal animals.

DAY 10: MORNING GAME DRIVE – RETURN TO ENTEBBE
