Overview

This 10-day Uganda safari is a perfect mix of wildlife, primates, and breathtaking landscapes, taking you to Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Lake Bunyonyi.

Start with Big Five game drives and a boat safari in Murchison Falls National Park, then head to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll experience game drives, a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, and tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. The highlight of the trip is mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi, followed by a relaxing stay at Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most scenic lakes. The safari ends with a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park before heading back to Entebbe.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE – TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park, a 5–6 hour scenic drive with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. Check into your budget lodge, enjoy dinner, and relax before your wildlife adventure begins.

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE & BOAT SAFARI ON THE NILE

Wake up early for a morning game drive, searching for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and warthogs. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Nile River, where you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and bird species. The cruise ends near the bottom of Murchison Falls, offering spectacular views of the world's most powerful waterfall.

DAY 3: HIKE TO THE TOP OF MURCHISON FALLS – TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow 7-meter-wide gorge, creating a thunderous waterfall. Then, embark on a 6-hour drive to Kibale National Park, passing through rolling hills and tea plantations.

DAY 4: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN KIBALE – BIGODI WETLAND WALK

Start your day with chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. After locating a habituated group, spend one hour observing their interactions. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you’ll see rare birds, monkeys, and beautiful wetland vegetation.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BOAT SAFARI

After breakfast, drive 3 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a wildlife-rich reserve with lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is home to the largest concentration of hippos in Africa.

DAY 6: GAME DRIVE & ISHASHA TREE-CLIMBING LIONS – TRANSFER TO BWINDI

Start with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, an excellent place to see lions, elephants, antelopes, and warthogs. In the afternoon, head to the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

DAY 7: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Today is the highlight of your safari—gorilla trekking in Bwindi! After a briefing, enter the dense rainforest, tracking a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2–6 hours, but once you find them, you’ll have one unforgettable hour to watch them interact. After trekking, return to your lodge or opt for an optional Batwa cultural experience.

DAY 8: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI – CANOEING & RELAXATION

After breakfast, take a 2-hour drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, dotted with 29 scenic islands. Spend the day canoeing, swimming, hiking, or relaxing by the lakeside, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

DAY 9: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – WALKING SAFARI

After breakfast, take a 4-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park, known for zebras, giraffes, impalas, and buffaloes. Upon arrival, check into your budget lodge before going on an afternoon walking safari, where you’ll get up close to wildlife on foot.

DAY 10: MORNING GAME DRIVE – RETURN TO ENTEBBE
